PROJECT RE>LIVING 4TH REICH

Project Living in 4th Reich is a philosophical visual interpretation of a World where history represents a constantly repeating life cycle of different cultures and nations combined in 13 Art collages. The colages are made from erlier works and studies and are combined in 12 paintings. The 13th painting is a glass painting … They represent a mixture of science, history, mythology, politics, religion and human symbolism . Different works and sketches from different periods of life joind by a strong thought by Polish writer and philospher George Santayana: “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” The project is designed in a space composition to symbolize a drama triangle-pyramid. the paintings are exhibit from the smallest in the begining to the highest towards the middle to the top of the pyramid. The glass painting represents the Sun which is in many cultures portrayted as a deity but in the case of the project it represents a human Child – symbolically “pure” and transparent being. It symbolizes a hope for the future, because each time a child is born a new hope is born for a brighter future.

ART PROCESS

Art process used in the creating of the work represents the core message of the project. From repeating the past as the philosopher Santayana well puts in his quote to Recycling the past. In the present the >past is used to recycle the past in to the new present<. That is why I chose to do the same with my work. (1) I took something from my past work … (2) put the important parts of the past together to function in an new digital environment … (3) then I painted over the pressed paintings.

HAND PAINTED WORK

Hand painted work using different mediums and tools. Paintings and studies done with Oil + acrylic + dry needle + pencil + etching + chalk + watercolor + pen

The selected work was scanned into a computer. The idea was to combine the different parts of a specific work into new coherent painting that does not look as a collage. Instead of a glue I used Adobe Photoshop as a medium.

After the high resolution Art prints on canvas were made the final design ow the work was painted over.
